VAGANOVA METHOD

The Vaganova method was created by Russian dancer Agrippina Vaganova. It is a ballet technique and training system that is designed to use the whole body with equal attention being paid to the upper body and lower body. The Vaganova technique uses elements from traditional French technique from the romantic era using virtuosity of the Italian technique. With many styles of classical ballet being known and taught through out the world Agrippina Vaganova believed that this method created more awareness of the body and a greater range and movement. Vaganova technique has been taught since the late 1920’s and produced some of the world’s best ballet dancers.
