MAMBO & CHA CHA
The Mambo originated in Cuba with Perez Prado who developed Mambo style music in 1943. Prado’s music was based on a Rumba rhythm with an emphasis on a different beat. As the Mambo became too difficult for almost anyone other than professional ballroom dancers, it was adapted into the Cha Cha.
